As follows the three types of membership in the Arab Union for Industrial  Exports Development: Active member Associate member Observer member

Active Member

The active member in the Union shall be one of the bodies, unions, associations, organizations, industry and trade chambers, institutions, funds, banks and Arab government, private and hybrid companies operating in industry and Arab industria exports development as well as institutions related to the field of work of the Union whose capital amounts of at least 500,000 U.S. dollars provided that at least 51 percent of active member’s capital should be owned by Arab shareholders.

Associate member

The associate member shall meet the requirements stipulated in the paragraph 2 of article VI of the present statute and whose capital under 500,000 U.S. dollars.

Observer member

The observer member shall be of Arab international specialized bodies, organizations, associations that establish cooperation and coordination relations with the Union related to the activities of the same.

Membership

With the exception of observer members, to become a member in the Union, ones should submit a written application (membership application form) to the department that issue the membership pledging to adhere the Statute of the Union and to honor the prescribed membership fees, provided that the applicant shall attach to the application the documents proving that he/she meets the membership requirements. In case of application rejection, the applicant may appeal to the Board of Directors. If the Board insisted on the rejection, the appeal shall be referred to the General Assembly at its subsequent meeting to the date of submission for consideration. The decision in this regard shall be final. Members shall pay the prescribed membership fees on time.

Discarding of membership and withdrawal of a member

membership shall be removed by the decision of the Board of Directors in case of change or stop of the member’s activity or non-payment of annual assessed contributions for the two consecutive years or a substantial violation of the Union Statutes, the member, whose membership has been discarded by the decision of the Board of Directors, may file against this decision within three months as of the date of notification of discarding his membership status, and the grievance case shall be filed to the General Assembly at its first meeting to be considered, and its decision in this regard shall be final. The member may withdraw from the Union through an application submitted to the Board of Directors, mentioning therein the reasons. The member shall in all cases, pay his annual contributions for the year when he withdrew whatever his membership term was, before his withdrawal from the Union.
